"As An Artist It's Always Great When Your Talent Gains You New Clients. But For Me. It's Special When You Can Share Those Talents With The People You Know." If That's Not A Saying.. Then Im Claiming That...

This Photoshoot Came About From A Good High School Friend N'fa Thomas Who Is Now An Accomplished Actor & Poet. Contacted Me After Seeing Some of The Portrait Series That I Would Posts From My Various Media accounts & Contacted Me For A Shoot.

As Usual I Have Four Step Process That I Go Through In Order To See If I Can Even Take On A Potential Client & Prepair For The Shoot:

1. I Recommend Having (At The Minimum) A Phone Conversation For A "Needs" Consultation. During That Time I Find Out: What Type Of Genre He/She Needs (Portraiture, Boudoir, Corporate Headshots, Maternity Or Fashion). How Many Final Images Does He/She Need, Do They Already Have A Concept That They Would Like To Execute.. Or Do I Have Fully Creative Autonomy (Which I Prefer Actually) & Then A Tentative Date Of Production To See If It Aligns With My Schedule

2. With The Information That I Gathered From Our Talk. I Draft Up A Contract Along With My Terms & Conditions & An Estimate With The Charges Of The Shoot.

3. After The Client Has Committed To The Shoot By Forwarding A Cash Deposit I Start Location Scouting. If The Shoot Needs To Happen In Studio. I Contact Studios That I Have Previously Shot With And Place A Request For A Workroom. If The Location Is An Outdoor Shoot. I Check The Weather On That Date And Then Physically Check Out Locations To See It They Fit.

4. Lastly I Create A Mood Board With Inspiration Images That Express: Poses, Clothing, Color Scheme, Location & The Overall Mood Of The Shoot. Send That Over To The Client & Then Shoot!!

The Mood For This Particular Shoot Was "Simple & Clean." We Not Only Wanted To Show The Public Him As He See's Himself. But To Also Create A Fresh New Visual Look For Him As He Is Changing The Focus & Visual Aesthetic of His Brand. Some of The Words & Phrases We Listed During Our Consult To Associate A Look & Feel Around The Final Product Were: Mature, Grounded, A Well Rounded Creative Who Is Constantly Evolving To Push Is Push Himself To The Next Level. Family Man, Simple & Not Flashy, Secure, Strong, Well Groomed & GQ.

Based On The Results.. I'd Say We Were Pretty Successful.
